Organising daily journeys for a child with a disability can quickly become a real challenge for families. Juggling medical appointments, mainstream and specialised schools and their own commitments, parents have to plan every single trip in advance. It is an organisational task that takes considerable time and attention, all to meet the child’s specific needs.
KidCab : A family-run service designed for every child
KidCab is a family business set up more than six years ago by a transport specialist and a mother who knew first-hand the challenges families face. We offer parents a turnkey solution for every child. Making their mobility easier through a service that is safe, reliable and genuinely caring is the goal at the heart of everything we do.
Opening that service up to children with disabilities felt entirely natural to us. Their journeys call for precise adjustments and a real understanding of their individual needs. That is why our driver-companions:
- are experienced transport professionals, trained to accompany children, including young people with disabilities;
- care deeply about mobility for children with disabilities and bring a caring, attentive approach to every trip;
- are thorough in their door-to-door support, whatever the child’s age or level of independence.
Our support is fully tailored to your situation:
- You can set different pick-up and drop-off addresses to suit your needs (different facilities, more than one home address, and so on).
- The driver can wait during an appointment and then take your child home afterwards (KidCab standby service).
- A relationship built on trust is essential: a dedicated driver is assigned to your child’s journeys all year round. And if the unexpected happens, a back-up driver is ready to step in so your trip always goes ahead.
Mobility for children with disabilities : A daily challenge
For many families, a lack of transport options stands in the way of access to healthcare and education for their child with a disability. By choosing to travel with KidCab, you help to:
- support inclusion at school and in everyday social life;
- provide a safe, reassuring environment;
- organise your own schedule and commitments more easily;
- respect your child’s specific needs.
