WHY KIDCAB?
Established six years ago, it all began with a personal experience
As a child, Maxime, who loved sports—especially soccer—was unable to join his local club to attend practices and games because of a lack of accessible transportation options. His parents couldn’t drive him themselves: a common situation.
Later, like many students, he babysat in the evenings and on weekends and realized that, despite the explosive growth of ride-hailing and taxi services since 2008, little had changed when it came to transportation for children and teenagers. Kidcab was born out of this observation: a complete lack of flexible transportation services that were child-friendly and reassuring for parents.
A partnership between a transportation professional and a mother
To meet this need, Maxime, a mobility specialist (who holds a professional certification in transportation and is trained in transporting people with reduced mobility), designs a customized solution.
From the very start of this project, he has been supported by his mother, Nathalie. With her deep understanding of the challenges families face and their expectations, Nathalie brings expert insight by clearly identifying the mobility issues young people encounter.
“In fact, as an entrepreneur and a parent, my busy schedule didn’t allow me to handle my children’s many school trips or drive them to their activities.” (Nathalie)
This is a collaboration between a professional and a parent directly affected by the issue. Together, they develop a solution that truly addresses the gaps in youth transportation and eases the mental burden on parents. This is how Kidcab, a family-driven and socially conscious project, was born.
